Ask-a-Grower #99

When should I flush my plants with water?

Great question! A common cause of crop failure is the buildup of nutrient salt deposits in soils or soil-less growth media.

Flush start times depend on a lot of factors including the strain and medium used for the plant. I recommend flushing 3-7 days with soil. You need at least 3 good days of clean water. If your in a pinch or don’t want to start flushing so soon, then I recommend a product called Clearex which effectively binds with the excess nutrient salt and safely leaches it from your soil or hydroponic container when you decide to harvest.

We hope this helps you out and look forward to answering any questions you may have in the future.
