I currently am putting together my list of nutrients to buy for growing in medium. I read Root Excelurator claims it’s second to none, but is it worth the price? I was under the assumption a rooting formula should have at least 3 necessary chemicals (forget them). I just wanted to hear your opinion if there may be a better alternative for much less that does the same thing. I am thinking about inducing clones after 3-4 days using Humboldt Nutrients White Widow.
To answer your first question, yes Root Excelurator is worth its price! A 250ml of Root Excelurator retails for about $77. That makes it just under $0.31 a gallon. The 500ml is about$127 which makes it just under $0.26 a gallon. Now to your next question, just to clear up some confusion Root Excelurator is used after roots are present. Root Excelurator has beneficial bacteria that protect the roots from diseases like root rot. It also stimulates new root growth by providing optimum conditions for the root zone. I will not grow without Root Excelurator.
You were under correct assumptions regarding most rooting formulas. Most rooting formulas whether they are powder, liquid or gel will usually have Indole-3-butyric acid. These products are to help create the roots. I use either Clonex gel or Rootech gel. Personally I’m not a fan of the Humboldt nutrients White Widow. This is not because of the ingredients but because I prefer a different product that has a greater variety of biologicals. I like to use Plant Success Great White. I hope I have been able to answer your question to your satisfaction. If you need any more info please call any location or email.
